Day 2 in Barbados

Right after breakfast we had a great presentation during our morning devotional time and then we jumped right into service and ministry. Our schedules have been juggled so that we are paired up with different team members of our team each day. Below are a few comments from our team members:

Dave, Larry, and Chuck worked arduously in the engine room. Apparently it was very hot and dirty with a lot of fumes. They were aching and very tired when the time for supper rolled around. In our debriefing each one of them expressed how much they liked doing something helpful and productive. They each also remarked about how appreciative the engine room personnel are of vision team work. Below is a photo of these guys with the First Engineer on the ship, Paul Guiness (UK).

Dave was also encouraged throughout the day with connecting with several OMers from past events around the world.

Larry was able to
share his Beattitudes study with three crew members during the day and encourage others to read “Secrets of the Secret Place”.

Joyce was encouraged at the very beginning of the day by connecting in a significant way with a visitor to the ship who was born in
Israel and raised in Columbia. Joyce was able to counsel and minister to her from experiences that God had helped her deal with in her past.

Sue remarked how encouraged she was with her interaction with the public
that was visiting the ship.

Joel shared how
much he has enjoyed meeting the great crew members, their enthusiasm, and their commitment to the Lord. We all agreed that this has been an ongoing highlight of our time here. So far, we have counted 26 nationalities represented by our conversations with the crew. We’ll probably publish a list later in the week.

Lee had a great t
ime with a team from the crew that went to a park in town and engaged in street ministry (see photos).

All in all, we’ve had a great day and look forward to church, ministry, and servic
e tomorrow.
